May you taste the bright, cold, blue energy of dawn.
May you inhale vim and vigor, exhale elan vital today.

Psalm for Sunrise
by Susan Kelly-DeWitt
Let starlight fade in the East.
Let the horses of dreaming ramble
home slowly from their sweet dark pastures.
Let the sun nourish us like wheat.
Let me tidy the quilts
and the flesh-scented sheets.
Let my feet step forth gently
and my heart pump strongly.
Let the kettle cry out
on its bed of blue flame.
Let bee song and crow song rise.
Let the sound of the waking city arise
and the day in its glory bless us.

Dear friends,
What are the sounds you most love hearing, the ordinary sounds in your day, or the rare sounds?
I love the voice of a cat asking for attention, and the bell of the oven dinging when the bread is baked. I love the yells of children at protests.
What sounds do you hear through the day, what sounds do you love most?
I love laying in bed in the morning and hearing the birds sing - connecting me to nature’s bounty
I love the sound of the heater kicking on, reminding me I have shelter, reminding me to fight for all to have shelter, home.
